Chlorine Gas Vent Arrestor – used to prevent gas vent leaks when changing chlorine containers or vacuum regulator
Let’s face it, nobody wants to experience chlorine gas vent leaks when performing necessary tasks such as changing chlorine containers or replacing vacuum regulars with faulty inlet valves. Fortunately, Hydro Instruments’ Chlorine Gas Vent Arrestor was designed to prevent chlorine gas vent releases. The vent arrestor will not only prevent the inconvenience of triggering chlorine gas sensor alarms, but also helps compliance with code restrictions against exhausting chlorine gas outside of a building. In turn, this can help protect storage buildings from chlorine gas related corrosion.
The Vent Arrestor is a five gallon HDPE bucket containing 30 lbs of dry media that can neutralize up to 3 lbs of chlorine gas. The media is non-hazardous and can be easily disposed of after use. There are colorimetric indicator strips on both the inlet and outlet.
Since the byproduct of the chlorine neutralization is heat and heat rises, the top connection will run to the outside of the building. The bottom connection goes to the vacuum regulator vent.
When the color strip on the discharge side of the arrestor turns from yellow to pink, you know the media is spent and it’s time to replace the unit.
