Isolation Valve Assembly
Significantly extends the life of a chlorine gas manifold!
When designing a new manifold set up, (or retrofitting an existing set up), we recommend that an isolation valve assembly be used on all container connections.
What are the advantages to installing an Isolation Valve assembly?
-
To reduce the chances of chlorine leaks and increase the life of flexible connectors. Because flex connectors will not need to be disconnected from the gas containers, the likelihood of failure is reduced.
-
To Prevent air and moisture from entering the flexible connectors and manifold piping. A common problem that can occur when changing out chemical containers in a manifold system is that humid air is allowed to enter the manifold. When air, (which contains water vapor), is allowed to enter the manifold, even a small amount of moisture can cause major corrosion damage to the interior of the manifold.
An isolation valve assembly is designed to isolate the pressurized line from the gas source. The valve will allow the pressurized line to be isolated right at the container. This will eliminate the need to draw down the entire system before replacing depleted gas cylinders or ton containers connected to a manifold.
The Isolation Valve Assembly is to be installed between the flex connector and the gas source. Before the pressure connection is broken, the valve is closed and the chlorine cylinder valve is closed. After the new container is connected, and the new connection is reestablished, the isolation valve and the gas cylinder valve can be opened and the operation resumed.
Global Treat, Inc. provides two Isolation Valve Assembly models, the IV-830 and the IVH-100-500. Both valve assemblies are equipped for 150 lb cylinders or ton containers and can be used on either gas or liquid applications. The only significant difference between the two is that the IV-830 is designed to accommodate an Emergency Shutoff Actuator. Isolation Valve Assemblies are in stock and can be purchased online today!
